Dvd player won't read 16GB USB bulldoze

I have a SaMSUNG DVD-1080P9 player with USB port in the front end. I plugged in 4GB Lexar bulldoze and 4GB Sandisk and the DVD player can read it and displays folders , pictures etc on the Goggle box screen , no problem. Tried using my new Kingston 16GB USB drive and the DVD player will not read it.

The USB drive came formatted with FAT32. So I formatted in to NTFS just either style, the DVD player refuses to read the 16GB usb bulldoze.

information technology'southward then abrasive. get-go FAT32 won't let you re-create 4GB or larger files, formatted to NTFS and now I can transfer larger than 4GB files size only the DVD histrion won't read information technology

Does anyone know if in that location is a limitation like 8GB max

If in FAT32 it won't piece of work then the limit is 8GB
also if your files is more 4GB then its probably High definition file? The unit of measurement won't play high def. files.

I checked the FAQ's and the user manual and nowhere does it mention anything nearly the maximum size of a USB flash drive. I did find that the USB Host will not play whatsoever NTFS formatted drives (user manual page 37). I would say that the maximum size of a USB device that the player will read would also be 8 GB. Information technology will read split partitions, so I would attempt to partition in two x eight.0 GB or 4 x 4.0 GB in NTFS and then convert to FAT32 table.

DIVX DVD players are so outdated now. Easier but to spend $l and buy a PBO. It'll play everything with no codec issues, will play HiDef, and volition work with your 16GB drive, any USB HDD, or whatsoever network share.

Okay, stupid question: what's a "PBO"?

http://acronyms.thefreedictionary.com/PbO

Pretty sure it's not mentioned in the above link, and Google isn't really providing anything that looks right.

I'm screwed either way:

FAT32 - won't allow me re-create a file larger than 4GB on it. I'm copying a movie over, so I can plug it direct into DVD player and watch

NTFS - let's me copy the whole file (over 4GB) but the DVD USB port won't let me play it.

How can I get around this issue.

Yous could attempt a dual kick Ubuntu setup and format with ext2,iii or 4. Will your histrion even recognize those formats?

PS unless your DVD actor was made past Apple information technology won't back up the Apple tree file organization.

Information technology'due south a 720P moving picture . I will be buying a digital media thespian but until so, the DVD actor has to do.

I'm just using what I have. Basically the FAT32 is express – based on the 32bit algorithm, thus won't allow files bigger than 4GB .

I will format with exFAT and see if the player will take it.

I don't think the quality volition be terrible it's an Upconverting 1080P dvd, vie HDMI into the LCD Idiot box.

It won't understand exFAT. As another poster pointed out better just become a media player. Yous could split your video file or recompress it.
